Windows 10: How to make a program file have app icon instead of preview? And how to set the "Opens...

1 How to make a program file have app icon instead of preview? I use Affinity Designer and Photo apps, but their files show preview instead of respective app icons. I'm not sure if it's app feature or Windows functionality. It doesn't happen with other apps. 2 How to set the "Opens with" attribute of a file to "none"?I opened these files with Notepad temporarily. Now they have set "Opens with" set to Notepad in their properties, permanently. How can I revert it so that it becomes like before which was opened with nothing/or unknown file - basically a white icon.

App to open .c6e0ec and .e8d549184 files

It seems that there is no default app set to open these kind of files. Can you still recall the type of app or program that opens this kind of file?

For us to isolate this issue, we suggest assigning a default app or program to open it. Follow the steps below:

• Open Settings and click System.
• Click Default apps.
• At the bottom, click Choose default apps by file type.
• Scroll down and look for the .e8d549184 file.
• Once found, click the + sign on the right and select the app you want to use.

Once you've successfully set the default app, try opening the file again and let us know how it goes.

Delete and Cut Files with Preview Pane Open

• What exactly happens when try to delete the pdf file?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• 
  Open File Explorer.

  Select View and click on preview panel.

  Select the pdf file.
  
• 
  At the right corner you will be able to see preview panel.
  
• 
  You can right click on it and delete the files.

Recent shortcuts for apps show files on OneDrive instead of local hard drive

I was able to follow the steps and uncheck the "Use Office apps to sync" box but it didn't change Office's behavior. I opened and closed an Excel spreadsheet on my local hard drive. After that, when I right-clicked on the Excel icon pinned to the taskbar, a link to the OneDrive cloud file was in the list of recent files instead of a link to the file on my hard drive.

Do you have any other suggestions?
