    How to make an optical mouse behave like a physical mouse?


    Remember having a physical mouse, the kind with the little rolly ball inside it? You could kind of "fling" the mouse and the ball would spin in that direction for a little bit. Has anyone ever developed any software that might replicate this physical mousey-ness in an optical mouse? Thanks!

    I understand your concerned. Let me help you to fix the issue.

    The issue you are facing could be due to the mouse is not compatible with Windows 10. Let’s try simple steps and check if this helps.
    I suggest you to go to the below link, download Windows 8 driver and try installing it in compatibility mode and check.

    Mouse and Keyboard Center download


    • Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties.

    • Select Compatibility tab.

    • Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.

    • Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

    How to make an optical mouse behave like a physical mouse?

    windows 10 optical mouse problem

    Just bought a new Laptop/tablet.

    Prior to the latest update my USB optical mouse worked fine.

    Following the update, that took 5 hours to install, my optical mouse hardly moves the curser.

    Right click works and curser only moves diagonely (11 o'clock to 5 o'clock).

    Clearly a problem with the update.

    Anyone able to suggest a fix?
