How to Make Apps always Open on the Same Monitor That I Clicked it From in a Multi-Monitor...

I have a 4 monitor setup. I do not want to "assign apps to a specific monitor". If I click on Microsoft Word on my 3rd monitor, that's where I want it to show up. Tomorrow, I may click on Microsoft Word on my 2nd monitor, and that's where I want it to show up for that instance. I know you can press Win key+X to move it, but with 4 monitors, sometimes I press it too many times and end up wasting more time than if I were to just grab it manually, especially since all the apps have different windows their assigned to. I still want all my monitors to have the full taskbar. Is there anyway I can for

  2. Windows 10 multi-monitor setup: how to open program in current monitor, not the last one?

    Hi everyone!

There is something in Windows 10 (and 7/8 too) that bothers me too much. In my multi-monitor setup I have Windows 10 logo button (aka Start Menu button) in all monitors.

When I'm in monitor 1 and click on a Microsoft Word shortcut, for example, it opens on monitor 1.

If then I close it and reopen Microsoft Word by clicking on the same shortcut as before, but now in monitor 2, it will be opened on monitor 1 (the last monitor wherein it was closed).

Is there any way to ALWAYS open a program windows into the current monitor where the program is started (by their own .exe or shortcuts) regardless of which monitor it was closed last time? Any tricks?

Problems with cut/paste in multi-monitor desktops

There is a feature called snap that you can turn off. You can click on Start > type Display Settings, click on it > Multitasking > Snap. There you can turn it off and see if it helps.

As for setting a different wallpaper for each monitor you have, kindly follow the steps below:

    • To start, right-click on the desktop of either monitor and select Personalize from the context menu.
    • Settings will open to the personalization section where you'll want to choose Background from the list on the left. Then scroll down to select your picture. There you can browse for additional wallpapers too.
    • Once you've found the ones you like, right-click one and select the monitor you want it set as the background.

Hope this helps and if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to post back.

    Regards.
