    Brightness slider does not appear for adjusting brightness in Windows 10

    Original title: No brightness slider

    HPE-112ye

    AMD Phenom 2.8 GHz

    8 GB RAM

    Recently installed Win10 with clean install to try and "reset" computer to like new speed.

    Tried Device Manager update of software, but computer says it's the latest software.

    Tried Calibrate Display Color but the slider does not appear on the page for adjusting brightness.

    The display is an HP w2338h. The driver is an ATI Radeon 8.970.100.9001

    What next?

    Hi,

    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    Select action center/notification button on the right side of the taskbar, and then move the
    Brightness slider to adjust the brightness. As mentioned in the article, if you
    don't have a desktop PC and the slider doesn't appear or work, try updating the display driver.
    As you have already update the Display drivers, I would suggest you to uninstall and delete the drivers then update it again. To uninstall and delete the drivers, please follow the steps mentioned below:

    1. Open Device Manager and then expand the Display adapters
      section.
    2. Then right click on options listed below and click on Uninstall.
    3. Check the box next to Delete this drivers.
    4. Then reboot your device and update the drivers. You can also try updating the Batteries drivers along with display drivers from manufacturer’s website.

    Driver Error AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000

    ok, it didn't work after all. windows update has seemingly installed another
    driver update for my amd mobility radeon hd 5000, this time breaking it again.

    i tried what you suggested step by step, but that didn't work either. I'll try it again with running a win 7 driver in compatibility between steps two and three and keep you posted on the results.
