Windows 10: How to make pinned folders in Windows 11's File Explorer expandable as in previous versions...

Similar questions have been asked numerous times, but most responses seem to be overly complex or miss the point and fail to solve the problem. The ones I found are all Locked against further responses so I cannot provide the correct, simple, solution under the original questions. Hopefully the answer below can be found and shared as appropriate.In File Explorer click on the More link in the Menu Ribbon the 3 dots to the right of the View link:Select Options to open the Folder Options window.Select the View tab and scroll down the Advanced settings panel to see the Navigation pane setting

Expanding folders in file explorer

In answer to your query, yes, there's an option to change the Folder View Options of your File Explorer. To do so, follow these steps:

• Open File Explorer.
• Click File tab.
• Select Change folder and search options.
• Click View tab.
• Under Advanced settings, scroll down to Navigation pane.
• Check Expand to open folder, Show all folders, and
  Show libraries.

You can also check all the options, and set it up the way you wanted.

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”

How do I expand the 'Recent' list in the File Explorer?

I've pinned my File Explorer to my taskbar and I have a lot of quick-access links pinned to it.





Because of that, I only get one item of my recently opened folders and files.
Is there a way to expand the list of the recent files in that taskbar File Explorer?
