Windows 10: How to Make Spanish Accent over e - What else is there?

Okay, I learnt that to make the Spanish accent over the letter 'e' I first make sure that NUM LK is on and then I hold down the ALT key and press the following numbers on the number pads: 0233 and I get this - é. Viola!

So now I'm like, "What are all the characters I can get/make?" (I'm intrigued.)

Well, help me out fellow forum members! Is there an index/chart/listing that gives me all the special characters I can make?

Can you point me in the direction?

I tried BINGing/Googling but I only got a few characters. I want to know the full set, if available.

Cannot chnage keyboard language input to spanish

I appreciate Joy Kemprai & Vanessa Sohtun responses but, I got Windows 10, not 8. I can switch inputs methods. ENG,US keyboard; ENG, Spanish Variation keyboard; Spanish(US). Spanish keyboard; Spanish(US). Latin American keyboard. Notw/standing, 2 type"mañana"(2morrow),
I got 2 switch inputs, cuz, not even typing Ctrl+~+n, nor Alt+0241, wld work 2 type "ñ." 2 type "cafe"(coffee), w/ d accent on top of d "e", Ctrl+`+e/Alt+0233 won't work either. Consequently, I still need 2 learn how 2 do it.

 

how can i type spanish accented vowels?

is there a simple way to generate an accented vowel while using ENG keyboard? i also installed espanol keyboard, but cant see how to make accented vowels. i want to be able to add accented vowel just occasionally, if typing to spanish friends, not in word
docs, but in email and facebook etc

Switch your keyboard to Spanish and open it in desktop= Settings/Ease of access/Keyboard/Turn on on-screen keyboard and see where is the character you're looking for.

For Spanish US: Mayus + beside p, click on it and than on e.

Even better then ASCI code, turn on the corrector in office or libre office and correction will be made when typing. F7 makes it too.

To make é ç ó and other accented characters the easy way, I switch my keyboard to 'US English International'. Now I can create accents like those three examples by typing the ' key followed by the character I want the accent to appear on. Others available include ü (" followed by u) and â (^ followed by a).

This freeware allows you to choose (or create your own) set of accented characters for a given language.

E.g. hit e + F7 to get é
hit n + F7 to get ñ
etc

easiest way is simply to add input languages and keyboards to your basic Windows system.

I usually have ISL keyboard even if typing English as English doesn't have things like umlauts, dipthongs etc so most European Language keyboards can work well when typing English. English really has almost ZERO special characters compared to other languages so if your National Keyboard has the 26 letters on it plus the usual set of things like Comma, semi colon, brackets etc you should be just fine using your National keyboard even for English typing.


I'd avoid like the plague though the French AZERTY Keyboard when typing English. !!! That keyboard is a REAL PAIN for typing in English.

1. In search windows, type character map and open it. Choose the character and copy/ paste. This method works in Notepad and in Wordpad also.

2.
In Libre Office, see all characters that way: From the menu (for windows), click on insert/ special characters/from the font drop down, choose the character you're looking for and click insert.

Get Libre Office stable for Windows there:

During the installation, choose the customize option (custom setup) and make sure you're adding the Spanish dictionary (optional components/dictionaries/spanish/click on this feature will be installed on local hard drive).

That way, the corrector will work properly.

I don't know about Win.10 but if my memory serves me right, in Win.8.1 I think I either used to combine the Ctrl or Win. key on the keyboard with Alt-Gr + any vowels & 'n'. This was for Spanish.
