Windows 10: How to make windows 11 recognize a printer as a scanner?

I have a Canon MP240 printer/scanner, when I added it to windows 11, it only recognizes it as a printer, I checked all the software related to the printer and the one meant for scanning is outdated and not compatible with windows 11 as the printer is discontinued. I tried windows scanner app but it needs the printer to be first recognized as a scanner, which is doable in windows 10 since there is a "Manage" button in the printer settings but not in windows 11. Tried windows fax and scan but I couldn't add it neither from "Add optional features" nor microsoft store I think it's also outdated.

Another method you may try is to uninstall and reinstall the printer. The following are the steps:



Remove your printer

• Select the Start button, then select Settings > Devices > Printers and Scanners.
• Under Printers & scanners, find the printer, select it, and then select Remove device.

Install or add a local printer

• Select the Start button, then select Settings > Devices > Printers and Scanners.
• Under Printers & Scanners, see if your printer is installed.
• If you don’t see your device, select Add a printer or scanner. Wait for it to find available printers, choose the one you want, and then select Add device.

On the other hand, we suggest also that you reach out the manufacturer of your printer/scanner for the driver availability or work around.

Windows 10 recognizes my printer+scanner only as a printer.

Windows (10) does not appear to recognize my printer+scanner combo (Canon MP240) as a scanner. I have used it without issue as a printer, but when I try to scan (using the Windows Scan app, as suggested), the screen only shows "To get started, connect
a scanner."

I have tried downloading a driver from the Canon website, but there isn't one for this printer.

 

Scanner not being recognized by PC after working fine

I went to scan a document I signed and the HP Officejet printer did not recognize the computer. It had just printed said document sans signature from said computer.

I then tried to initiate scan from the computer to the printer. It was unable to recognize the scanner. Even though when I went to devices, there the printer/scanner is listed as ready to print/scan. I am at a loss.
