  1. How to "Manage this child's access to third-party apps for your account"

Recently OneDrive stopped working on my child's PC. When trying to sign-in to OneDrive I get the following message:Your parent has blocked access to games and apps that aren't published by Microsoft. If you want to use this app, ask your parent to visit account.live.com/mk and go to Manage this child's access to third-party apps for your account. When I login to my parent account at "account.live.com/mk" no children show up. I get a message around parental consent with a "learn more" link that redirects to the family safety dashboard, and a message saying "To manage restrictions for your childr

  2. Enable 3rd party access to a child account

I have been struggling with this all afternoon but i think i have resolved the issue! If you login to your outlook/microsoft account (as an adult) and click family in the dropdown list, scroll down beyond the childrens’ accounts until you get to Manage My
Child’s Profile Info (NOT Manage Permissions). Click this and then click manage this child’s access to 3rd party apps. Enable this and bob’s your uncle!

Managing third-party apps for child account

My child is currently recieving a message that "Your parent has blocked access to games and apps that aren't published by Microsoft. If you want to use this app, ask your parent to visit account.live.com/mk and go to Manage this child's access to
third-party apps for your account." when they try and run WhatsApp or other non-Microsoft published applications.

As per the purpose of the Family controls I have "Block inappropriate apps, games, & Media" enabled deliberately to protect my child. I use this to stop them playing violent games on Xbox and I give explicit permission for each game over their age
rating after I have played it.

I need one of two things:

    • Turn OFF the restriction for non Microsoft publishers - As it is for Xbox games I want the age specified for the application to denote if it is blocked. This is the preferred option and should have a toggle in the Content Restrictions
      page.
    • Add specific apps to the approved list as I do with Xbox - I need to be able to approve specific applications to bypass the restrictions. While this can be tedious Microsoft could make it easy by providing an approval process.
    It is not acceptable for Microsoft to ask me to put my child at risk by removing the "Block inappropriate apps, games, & Media" just to get access to specific apps. So as per the message on the phone;

Where do I "manage this child's access to third-party apps"?

  4. How to "Manage this child's access to third-party apps for your account"

Enable 3rd party access to a child account

I am trying to enable access to 3rd party apps for my daughter's child account. When attempting to add outlook.com to Mail app on iOS, it is asking me to go to account.live.com/mk to enable 3rd party access to her account. when i go to that link, only 1
of my 4 children are on that page and she is not one of them so i cant enable access. I am not able to find where i can enable 3rd party access when i click on family and go to her account. that page is mostly windows 10 setting and nothing for 3rd party apps
    that i can find.
