I'm struggling with this situation a long time, but I wasn't able to find a satisfactory answer to my question... And I believe Windows already has a feature for what I'm trying to achieve...In Windows, the user's DESKTOP shows a combination of files in two different folders: C:\USERS%username%\DESKTOP that I will call UserDesktopFolder from now on and C:\USERS\PUBLIC\DESKTOP that I will call PublicDesktopFolder. My question is: Would it be possible to add a third folder to be exhibited into one single desktop view, the same way Windows already does with both folders UserDesktopFolder and P

  2. Lock the view for one folder

    Hello

I have a folder on my Windows 10 Pro Desktop named Programs. It contains shortcuts to most of the applications I use on my computer.

In order to be able to view all the applications at a glance, I use the List view (View > Layout > List). This ensures all the shortcuts are visible within the folder window.

My issue is that the view keeps resetting to Details. This results in the list of application shortcuts extending beyond the bottom of the folder window - I need to scroll down to see the remainder of the shortcuts.

Sometimes List view will last for a few days or just a single day. I use my computer every single day and it is on all day when at home.

I have researched this several times over the last year or so but none of the conventional suggestions work. Setting the view from a template does not work - it keeps reverting to Details.

Has anyone managed to lock a folder view so that it retains the same view when opened?

    Thank you.

Windows 10 desktop icons not in order

In ccleaner, did you uncheck cleaning the icon cache... have not used in a while; however, I think that is what the option is called.

Now, if you are setting the icons and they move after you have set the settings and not changed them... you may have the "Random Windows 10 Icon movement problem".
Some people have this and some don't.

Here is a thread on the problem at Windows10 forums: Windows 10: Folder View Settings and Desktop Icon Positions Not Saving
