Windows 10: How to mirror local folder to OneDrive?

Hello,I want to automatically let OneDrive synchronize a local folder.In OneDrive/Choose Folder however I cannot select the folder I want.I have followed also this instruction: Sync Any Folder to OneDrive in Windows 10 Tutorials tenforums.comusing mklink /j "%UserProfile%\OneDrive\Example Folder" "F:\Example Folder" my correct paths in CMD which I opened as admin.However, this only created a link to the local folder - so nothing will be synchronized.I don't want to manually drag/drop a folder after a working day to OneDrive.How I can let OneDrive synchronize a local folder?

When you set up OneDrive to sync with your computer, a folder C:\Users\XXXX\OneDrive will be created to store the contents. XXXX denotes your username. To move this folder to another location follow these simple steps:

1. Unlink OneDrive from your PC:

• Go to the taskbar notification area
• Right-click on the OneDrive icon
• Select settings
• Click: Unlink this PC

2. Delete the C:\Users\XXXX\OneDrive folder

3. Create a new folder (target folder) for OneDrive contents, e.g. D:\OneDrive

4. Create Directory Junction for the new folder

• In the search area of the taskbar type CMD and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter
• In the command window type

mklink /J C:\Users\XXXX\OneDrive D:\OneDrive

adjusting it to your specific username and selection of the target folder

5. Link again OneDrive to your PC using the OneDrive icon in the taskbar notification area

 

Documents/Pictures folders under 'This PC' refer to onedrive - not the local folders

My documents are already being saved to 'This PC only'.

The Documents folder in the libraries is correct (local drive).

The Documents folder in the quick access area is correct (local drive).

The only thing that is incorrect is the documents folder under 'This PC'?

Also is 'winhelponline.com' affiliated with Microsoft?

1) Are you able to view the contents of the local document folder in your system, not in OneDrive folder?

2) Are you trying to copy the contents from OneDrive folder to local system Document folder?



If the content from your local system Document folder is moved to OneDrive Document folder, then I suggest you to open the Document folder under OneDrive, copy the content and save it in Document folder in the system.



You can also restore the default location of the Document folder, if the location is changed.

To restore the default folder location, follow the below steps.

1) Right click on the Document folder.

2) Select the Properties option.

3) Click on the Location tab.

4) Click on Restore Default button.
