    how to modify desktop files by document type

    right click on the desktop and select Sort by then Item Type.

    if however they are shortcuts to documents located elsewhere the sort will not work as intended as all the items on the desktop are the same type (shortcuts)

    let us know how you get on, I could suggest some alternatives,

    Unable to modify files in "DOCUMENTS" Floder in WINDOWS 10

    Hi guys, recently I upgraded to windows 10 pro from windows 7 ultimate. I am the administrator to my PC. While being in windows 7 I am able to modify any type of files like excel/word/text/.... but in windows 10, when I try to modify a text file in "Documents"
    folder and tried to save it, it says "access denied". But I am able to "save as" it on desktop or Documents folder. But there is no such problem to files on desktop or D drive. Moreover I am not allowed to cut a file from desktop and paste it in "Documents"
    folder. It says "I should have administrator permissions to paste the file".

    I don't understand one thing, being an administrator I am not having admin access to files in "Documents" in windows 10. I even checked under "accounts" section under "settings"whether I am the admin or not. It has "local account" and "Administrator" words
    under my PC name.

    Please help me guys.....
