Windows 10: How to move "Desktop" to top of Quick Access list in Windows 11

The link to my Desktop on Quick Access is defaulted to the bottom. Ideally, I would like this at the top, above Downloads. I can drag and move all other folders, hidden names for privacy including Downloads, but when I drag and move the Desktop, it will show it moved then immediately revert to the bottom position.Is this an bug in Windows 11? I have just upgraded and it is affecting my workflow.

Remove items from Quick access.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps.

• Right click on the file or folder.
• Select the option “unpin from the quick access”

To pin items to an item already on the quick access bar.

Follow the below steps.

I would suggest you to create folder in the desktop screen & place all the files or folder which need to pin to the quick access.

• Open the quick access.
• Select the Desktop option.
• Right click on the folder & select the option “pin to quick access”

Rather than moving "Desktop" directly to the top, please try dragging and dropping “Desktop” under “Downloads,” and then drag and drop “Downloads” under “Desktop.”

However, it’s worth noting that some users have reported similar issues with Quick Access in Windows 11, where certain items cannot be moved or rearranged as expected. This might be a bug in Windows 11.

Thank you for the suggestion, unfortunately this did not work - I cannot move Desktop anywhere in Quick Access, or even unpin it.

I will submit feedback.
