Windows 10: How to move "Desktop" to top of Quick Access list in Windows 11

The link to my Desktop on Quick Access is defaulted to the bottom. Ideally, I would like this at the top, above Downloads. I can drag and move all other folders, hidden names for privacy including Downloads, but when I drag and move the Desktop, it will show it moved then immediately revert to the bottom position.Is this an bug in Windows 11? I have just upgraded and it is affecting my workflow.

Remove items from Quick access.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps.

• Right click on the file or folder.
• Select the option “unpin from the quick access”

To pin items to an item already on the quick access bar.

Follow the below steps.

I would suggest you to create folder in the desktop screen & place all the files or folder which need to pin to the quick access.

• Open the quick access.
• Select the Desktop option.
• Right click on the folder & select the option “pin to quick access”

update about Quick Access not responding

• Re-enable Quick Access.
• Restart your computer, and see if it helps.

Keep "Desktop" at the top of the Quick Access list in the Windows Explorer

I'm not quite sure how this happened, but in my Windows Explorer (Windows 10), the "Desktop" link seems to sink to the bottom of the Quick Access list (based on how frequently I use it) while "Documents," "Downloads," and "Pictures stay static at the top of the list. It's very annoying and a bit of an eyesore.

Somehow it disappeared from the list and I had to add it back manually, which is why I suspect it's doing this (maybe the IT department did something with the registry, who knows). In any case, I'm wondering how to keep "Desktop" at the top where it belongs (like on every other Windows 10 PC I've used). Thanks

I dragged the Desktop back to the top as-per the comment, I noticed that while the static folders (Documents, Downloads, Pictures) are labeled as System Folders, Desktop isn't labeled as anything. I dragged it up from the "This PC" section of the sidebar to the top of Quick Access. It's up there now because I just did it, but it'll sink back down eventually.
