Windows 10: How to move/restore files from One Drive back onto your PC

Little to my knowledge when using One drive for the first time, the true meaning of "on demand files". When I backed up desktop, documents and pictures, they all were removed from my PC and only available on One Drive. According to the One Drive article, you can only download file/s from One Drive, but this does not restore them in original order or place. I cannot believe there is no option to restore files back, or when you deselect "files on demand" it should restore all files in One Drive back onto the PC where they came from. Free hard drive backup/restore program?

I am looking for a free (freeware) program that will back up and restore a hard drive. I'm looking to clone a few external hard drives. If the program will backup the used space instead of the whole drive this will be awesome! Thanks for any suggestions.

 

Restoring the PC has removed most files for Windows 10 apps.

Windows has a built-in anti-virus software installed on your device called
Windows Defender after you upgrade to Windows 10. Windows defender works just like other anti-viruses that are available in the market.



Method 1: Since the files are located in Program files at
C: drive you will not have control to delete the Kaspersky files as it is a system controlled files.



I suggest you to download the Removal tool to uninstall Kaspersky files from the link below and check if the issue is resolved.

Method 2: If the issue persists, I suggest you to perform Undo System Restore option by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

  Press Windows logo + X keys on the keyboard and select
  System option.

  Select System protection from the left side panel of the window and click on
  System Restore.

  Check Undo System Restore option and follow the on-screen instructions.
  
• 
  The PC will restart. Check if the changes are effective.
  

Note: Take back up of all your data before performing
Undo System Restore. Performing the above steps, PC will
restart immediately for the effective changes to take place. After the PC is restarted and is at Desktop, click on
Close and continue using the OS.

Restore files after damaged hard drive

My hard drive died and was replaced by Dell. Fortunately (I think) my files were backed up to a Seagate external drive and I can find no clear instructions on how to restore/move my files correctly to my new hard drive.

I have the Seagate dashboard but it doesn't seem to find my files.

Are there specific steps? I suppose I could drag and drop the photos and music but I have other files, programs and information that I would like restored back like the original.

Any suggestions?
