Windows 10: How to move taskbar to vertical position in windows 11?

How do I move the task bar from horizontal position to vertical position? Company just installed windows 11 and I can't seem to figure out how to move it.

Why is the option to move the taskbar vertically on the side of the screen removed in Windows 11? Just updated to Windows 11 and first thing I find is that I can't have the taskbar on my right vertically placed. I was havng it in that position in the last 10 years. Why ask the users always to adapt ? Why not keeping the option lik in the previous versions ?! What was the problem with moving taskbar around the screen ?

I'm one of the users that 99% of the time use horizontal default taskbar.

However there are certain situations, where I need that extra space so as a Windows 10 user I used to move the taskbar to vertical position 1% of the time.

Now with Windows 11 I find myself in those situations to open task manager, and kill explorer.exe just to remove it (hide it isn't enough since often need to click down there and is a pain seeing the taskbar comes back when I don't need it).

So, we are in 2022, and I need to kill explorer.exe to gain the space the taskbar is stealing from me.

Good job Microsoft, You make me feel on the 90s all over again.

 

Window 11 - Vertical Taskbar Option Gone - Really?!?!?!

I am good with changes, but also I think some features should be kept.

For me, placing the taskbar on the right side of the display (vertical alignment) it's very important. I am taking advantage of the full display hight, without the annoying auto-hide option, which was not ever my friend.

On the most common 16:9 display format, I consider this taskbar position as optimal.

To be honest, I am not a fan of 3rd party software, which are modifying the OS functionalities.

I only hope that Microsoft will be so kind to provide us back the option for different places of the taskbar (mainly the vertical position).

This should definitely happen before my company will decide to upgrade all computers to Windows 11, otherwise I will be very disapointed.
