Windows 10: how to on registry settings for windows update advance options

Hello Guys and Gals.


I need to change computers advance update settings. and it seems I can do this via registry because I am not allowed to touch domain group policy.

so, I am using a 3rd party purchased software to deploy a script to computers . In my script I can use powershell or dos batch .


I am able to turn on settings for "download updates over metered connection" and "show a notification when your pc requeires a restart". However I am unable to find setting for "receive updates for other microsoft products" and "restart this device as soon as possible" in registry. Because default 1909 build doesn't have these nodes created in registry.


So, what do you recommend for me ?

Try this method:

• First of all from Start Menu, open Settings (Type settings in the search bar and it will appear).
• locate and select “Update and Security“.
• in this window, Locate “Advanced Options”. Click on it.
• In Advanced Options; Click on “Choose How Updates are Delivered“.
• Turn off Updates from more than one place.

Your system will not work as a seeder for other Windows 10 users. It will give sudden boast to your Slow internet speed.

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.
