    I'd have understood what was up if this happened on a PC, but my laptop uses manufacturer SPECIFIC nvidia updates from Dell that matches the MOBILE gpu in this specific inspiron 5558 laptop. Yes it's not updated as much and that the latest update is from mid 2017 or something but IT IS stable and works perfectly fine. Why does Windows 10 think it knows better than me? And why is it that there's stuttering in games when I get it, but not from my manufacturer's version? YOU DON'T KNOW BETTER THAN ME MICROSOFT.

    After downloading to windows 10 1703 due to graphics problems with 1709, hidden update keeps coming back every day.

    I couldn't resolve a problem with 1709 where Nvidia drivers wouldn't install. Solution was to downgrade to 1703 until Nvidia or MS fixes the problem. After downgrading to 1703 and hiding the 1709 update, everything woked fine. Then 24 hours later, MS
    added the update again and it started to upload. I shut off the PC immediately. So the problem is that MS keeps adding the update even though I hide it.. This reminds me of the forced update for windows 10 when it was "free". MS needs to stop forcing the
    update to 1709. How do we do that? More importantly, now that 1709 has started to load, can I abort it some how?

    Hello,

    I am transitioning from Windows 10.0 Build 10240 to Windows 10 Insider Preview 14342

    I have problems with an Nvidia driver (when activated, it causes startup BSODs). So, I am attempting to prevent its re-installation (after I delete it).

    I find that there is a conflict between what Windows Update says and what the KB3073930 hide/unhide tool says. Despite using "hide" to try "hide" (i.e. prevent re-installation) the Nvidia driver, Windows Update still tells me it wants to install the Nvidia
    driver (this also happens after a computer restart).

    I simply want to guarantee that the problematic Nvidia driver will never be installed again (I am using a laptop where its Intel video driver works but the Nvidia driver causes a BSOD).

    My question is : despite using the tool KB3073930 to try "hide" (i.e. prevent future driver installations) the problematic Nvidia driver, will the installation process for Windows 10 Insider Preview 14342 look at the hardware as a "new installation" and
    then try re-install the problematic Nvidia driver?

    Is there some other way to solve the problem and prevent Windows 10 from trying to install the problematic Nvidia driver?

    The same updates I hide come back sneakily, I've to unhide and rehide them everytime. I have never hated something that's not alive as much as I hated windows 10.
