Windows 10: How to pick favorite fonts in Windows and not see all the others?

Its a joke now that there are so many fonts built in to Windows. I challenge Microsoft to show how much most of them are actually used Excel - font automatically changes when I change text color. I've been trying for 10 years to find a way to "turn off" the majority of those fonts - I don't need to see wingdings, goth, goth narrow, etc. When I click on a drop down menu of fonts, I just want to select Times Roman, Currier, or a few others. Tried deleting / uninstalling all the junk fonts before. Works great and saves me time, but usually that screws up some program I refused to call programs

I found these steps in this forum from back in 2010:

Step 1:

I would suggest you to try these steps and check whether it helps in fixing your issue.

Open font settings by clicking on start, click on control panel, and then click on appearance and personalization, under fonts click on change font settings. And select the font size.

Step 2:

If you’re trying to change windows font size then please follow the steps below:

To change Windows fonts

1. Open Appearance Settings by clicking the Start button and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type window color, and then click Change window colors and
metrics.

2. In the Item list, click the part of Windows that you want to change the font for. For example, if you want to change the menu font, click Menu in the list. Then, make any of the following changes:

· In the Font list, click the font that you want to use.

· In the Size list, click the font size that you want.

· In the Color list, click the font color that you want.

3. Repeat these steps for each item that you want to make changes to, and then click OK.

• Right click and click on install.
• Check if you are able to view the fonts in documents.

Step 2:

• Download the font type you want to install.
• Open Control Panel.
• Click on fonts.
• Now, drag and drop the downloaded fonts in the font’s folder.

  Open the EDGE browser, click on the URL
  in the tab.

  Click on the Star symbol at the top right corner of the
  URL bar.

  Click on Add button, the link will be added to the
  favorites.

  If you want to view the Favorite link, click on
  three horizontal line symbol on the top right corner of the EDGE browser and click on

Step 2: Follow the below steps to change the fonts.

  Open the Start menu, type
  Change Font settings in search bar and click on Change Font settings from the results on the search bar.

  Check the box Allow fonts to be installed using shortcuts (advanced).
  And click on OK button.

  Now again, Open the
  Start menu, type Fonts in search bar and click on Fonts from the results on the search bar.
  
• 
  Now you will be able to see all the Fonts on the font windows.
  
• 
  Click on any Font you like, drag and drop the font to the desktop to create the shortcut.

  Go to the Desktop, double click the font shortcut.
  
• 
  Click on Install open the font windows.
  

Step 3: Follow the below steps to change the colors.

• 
  Open the Start menu, type
  Settings in search bar and click on Settings from the results on the search bar.

  Click on Personalization.
  
• 
  Select the colors.
  
• 
  Here you can personalize the
  colors.
