    How to play minecraft PC with someone on PS4?


    I want to play minecraft on the PC (Windows 10) with my son on his PS4. I was going to buy minecraft for Windows 10 in the Microsoft store but it says "Free Trial" then "Redeem Code" and "Not sold separately"?? So I'm not even sure how to purchase it :/


    Then I read further down and under Multiplayer, it seems as though in order to play cross-platform, I would need to buy a subscription to something called "Realms"??? Would I really need to buy the game, then pay a monthly subscription fee just to play it with my son? Surely I must be reading this wrong.


    Can someone please help with what I would need to do to accomplish the seemingly simple task of playing on the PC with my son on PS4?

    PS4 external play options

    MKV is a container format which can hold unlimited number of video, audio, picture, or subtitle tracks in one file, but PS4 can play MKV files with the following specification:
    • H.264/MPEG-4 AVC High Profile Level 4.2
    • MP3, AAC LC, AC-3 (Dolby Digital)


    Once the MKV you add to PS4 does not meet the above requirements, the problem occurs.

    To solve the issue, there are many methods and here list two of them:

    1. Handbrake is the go to free converter for video files on Mac.

    HandBrake: Open Source Video Transcoder

    Install it and then point it at one of your MKV files and convert to one of the preset MP4 defaults in the Handbrake sidebar. Under "Regular" you should be fine with "Normal" or "High Profile" settings.

    So, on ps4, im trying to sign in to my microsoft account, which i made and tried linking to my account, i followed through with the website and the code, but when i try to click sign into microsoft account on the main menu, it says the we tried to sign in
    to your microsoft account but something happened

    what can i do to sign into my microsoft account? My ps4 is fully updated, minecraft is fully updated to the newest version. Please help
