How to prevent a suggested file extension from showing when saving a file

When saving a file, I hope to make a file extension not showing in the "File name" box. That's because I often need to change the extension. Since a file extension is shown or selectable in the "Save as type" box, I think it's redundant and unnecessary.I set Explorer to show all file extensions, including hidden files, and hiding all extensions is not an option as a solution. Is there any way to accomplish what I want?

    :)

  2. Prevent to changing file's Extension by users

    Hi,

How can I prevent the file extension from being changed by the user in Domain? I couldn't fined any content about this problem. The suggestion is to deny users access to folder option that they couldn't see the file extension but this isn't good solution because user can show file name extension in view tab on Win10.

I hope someone has a good solution to this problem.

    Thanks

    Saves log files ?

You can either read the files in Windows or my preferred method is.....

    Download CCcleaner from here...........

    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

You can then run cleaner, you will see the log files listed, then if you right click you can save as a text file and then have a read. You may also get an "error reporting" log listed seperatly.

  4. How to prevent a suggested file extension from showing when saving a file

    File extension *.docx

    Hi Randy,

To change the file extension when saving a document in Word 2013, you may follow the steps below:

    • Click on File; then, select Options from the list.
    • In the Word Options window, choose Save.
    • Under Save files in this format, select *.doc from the list.
    • Hit OK button to confirm and save the changes.

If ever your Word 2013 application is not recognizing the changes you have made, you may restart the application; however, if the issue still persists, we suggest that you repair it. To do this, see this
    link.

We would appreciate it if you could get back to us and provide us your feedback.

Have files/shortcuts saved on Desktop always showed file extensions?: Hello. Last night I saved a draft Word letter on my desktop - I'll save it in its proper place when I'm happy with it.
