  1. How to prevent edge tab from closing with ctrl + w?

I play browser games that are controlled with wasd and also use ctrl and using the w of wasd with ctrl causes it to close. How do I fix this? I have tried disabling keyshorts in registry editor, I've tried the gpedit way, both didn't work.

  2. Problem with microsoft edge

    Hi,

It seems that you're looking for the option Close Current Tab in Microsoft Edge. Basically, this feature is not available in Edge, but with Internet Explorer which is likely the browser you were using back when you still have Windows Vista. There's
nothing to worry though as you can still close the current tab by pressing
    Ctrl + W
or by clicking the X button on the tab as shown below:

However, if you want this feature to be added to Microsoft Edge, we suggest sharing your feedback with us through the
Feedback hub. Follow the steps below:

    • On the upper-right corner of your Edge browser, click the ellipses (. . .).
    • Select Send Feedback.
    • Under Microsoft Edge problems or suggestions, click Open Feedback Hub.

Let us know if you need further help.

    Regards.

can't close current tab in Windows 10

I have also found the missing 'Close Current Tab' annoying. I cannot find it anywhere on my screen. This is definitely not an improvement.

Someone elsewhere has suggested that pressing Ctrl & w will close the current tab. It seems to work for me.

  4. How to prevent edge tab from closing with ctrl + w?

How can i close just one tab in EDGE after I accidentally made it close all tabs

Sounds like you have disabled the prompt and closed the window. So, provided you haven't also changed the option about what is opened you should see all your tabs again then. Then, to close "just one tab", don't do what you did. E.g. click on an X
on a tab, or press Ctrl-w, or Middle-click on a tab.
