    How to prevent Startup Apps from starting when local Admin is logging on ?


    Hi all, I have the following problem, when somebody is logging on as local Admin on a Windows 10 machine, for support reasons or whatever, the Apps defined in Startup are starting as well.In these Apps we have some Apps which are trying to connect with the logged on User to our On Premises AD which obiviously fails, and it tries it again and again and again.Defender for Identity then shows me a "suspected brute force attack" because of the ammount of failed AD Logins.How can I prevent these Startup Apps from starting when a local Admin is logging in ?I cannot remove the local Admin permissions

    If your computer has an SSD, then this should solve your issue and you won't see any noticeable bootup speed changes:

    Disable Fast Startup (step by step):

    1. Open Control Panel
    2. Navigate to Hardware and Sound --> Power Options
    3. Then click on "Choose what the power buttons do"
    4. Press "Change settings that are currently unavailable"
    5. Under Shutdown settings untick the box beside "Turn on fast startup (recommended)"
    6. Save changes and reboot once.

    Once logged in and Windows has booted up properly and settled, shut down your computer. After that boot your computer again and test your Office apps. They should work now.

    I want ATI Tool to load on startup so that it can apply its settings as and when apps change. The problem is, ATI Tool is trying to do this with the permissions of the logged in user, and like any security conscious individual, I don't run under an admin account for gaming.

    Are there any plans to rectify this through use of a service? I believe RadLinker could successfully change the card clock without admin permissions, though I understand why you'd want to lock down the user from doing anything through the program itself (and it's entirely possible to seperate the two).

    Basically, are steps going to be taken in the future away from the assumption that everyone runs as an admin?
