Windows 10: How to prevent Windows 11 for updating the UEFI boot order?

Every time I boot Windows 11 with which I am happy, it updates the boot order to put the windows UFI first time. Windows should not alter the boot order it finds in the system, and damn sure it should not do it without obtaining first confirmation from the user. This behavior of the OS is just not acceptable, and unbelievable that a company like Microsoft allows that and I am saying that Microsoft allows it, because there are plenty of similar complaints with other versions of windows even in this very same forum... so its not a "just introduced bug".Therefore: is there any way to prevent

I think you were on track with your first try. Windows installer probably needs the RAID driver in order to detect it on install.

I can help you with that. Here are the steps on how to go from Legacy to UEFI so you can enable secure boot and update to Windows 11:

1. Check your computer's specifications. Make sure that your computer supports UEFI. You can check your computer's specifications by looking at the manufacturer's website or by opening the System Information window in Windows.
   
2. Back up your data. Before you make any changes to your computer's settings, it's always a good idea to back up your data. This way, you can restore your data if anything goes wrong.
   
3. Restart your computer. When your computer starts up, press the appropriate key to enter the BIOS or UEFI settings. The key you need to press will vary depending on your computer's manufacturer.
   
4. Change the boot mode to UEFI. In the BIOS or UEFI settings, find the boot mode option and change it to UEFI.
   
5. Save the settings and exit the BIOS or UEFI. Once you've changed the boot mode to UEFI, save the settings and exit the BIOS or UEFI.
   
6. Enable secure boot. Once your computer has booted into UEFI, find the secure boot option and enable it.

UEFI Forum Releases UEFI 2.3.1 Specification Update

The UEFI Forum has ratified an update to the UEFI 2.3.1 Specification that adds important firmware considerations and addresses numerous engineering change requests. The updated Specification will be referred to as “UEFI 2.3.1C”.

• UEFI 2.3.1C adds: An OS Indications Variable - OS/FW feature & capability communication – when implemented, allows end-users to make an OS menu request to enter BIOS setup after next reboot.
• UEFI 2.3.1C adds: A mechanism which, when implemented, facilitates Open Source Operating System installations and OS- agnostic end-user configurations of retaining the factory default keys while in Setup Mode (see Specification for full technical detail of Setup Mode).
• UEFI 2.3.1C removes: Runtime driver requirement on Network UNDI drivers - this allows UNDI drivers to be delivered in EFI Byte Code (EBC) Virtual Machine format supporting systems based on different processor architectures.
