    How to prevent windows disabling PS/2 Port


    HelloI made a board which emulates a PS/2 keyboard i needed input to be served via interrupt. i enabled the i8042prt driver in Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt setting start to 1, but seems windows keeps disabling it unless it find at power up a proper PS/2 keyboard connected and NO usb keyboard connected , so i have to unplug my board and my usb keyboard, plug a PS/2 keyboard , turn on PC, then unplug PS/2 keyboard and replug my board, every time.Is there any way to make windows always load / enable PS/2 port or prevent it disable that portThanks

    ps/2 ports

    I'm wondering if ps/2 ports on today's motherboards (p77, 990fx) are controlled via the chipset, or by some external controller that is wired via pci-e/pci? I'm not sure if I got it right, but ps/2 ports offer lower latency, while usb offers higher bandwidth. Is that correct?

    PS/2 mouse

    It should be plug and play. If you currently have a USB mouse connected, disconnect it from the USB port, then connect the PS/2 mouse to the PS/2 port.

    Restart if its not detected.

    PS/2 Mouse

    Hello,

    I have 2 PS/2 mouses. A Logitech TrackMan Vista and a Logitech TrackMan Marble FX.

    But they just won't work on my desktop (My desktop has a PS/2 port, so i just plug them in my PS/2 port).

    I tried al the sulutions that i found on the internet but none will work.

    I hope somebody can help with this.
