How to prevent windows from closing the unresponsive program/process?

Pretty much like the title said. Let's say in my case i'm running a game where at some point the game loads bunch of mods, map, assets, etc. And during the time game became unresponsive momentarily about a few seconds then proceed back to normal. Now the problem is during that unresponsive time then you accidentlyor not pressing any key button or mouse which usually make 'End Task' popup appear and giving you choice to end the process or not, but sometimes this is not the case. The popup won't appear even the screen goes white then when the game start to responsive again its just one-sidedly

    :)

What is the proper way to close unresponsive processes?

    WTH?

Not what 44k post user says LOOOOOOOL: How to Close Firefox (or any program) at Command Line/Prompt • mozillaZine Forums
I read that from multiple sources...

He says: closing forcibly program using taskkill can corrupt registry, any numbers of programs and files...

What do you mean by these 2? What about PowerShell cmdlet - Stop-Process?

It is weird that there wouldn't be any way to close unresponsive program safely. Hardrestart can do the same, or worse than if you closed forcibly just one unresponsive program!

  3. Programs become unresponsive in Windows 10

    Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried both with different results.

    Step 1: Safe Mode:

This seemed to work and I could save a file in Word without the program becoming "Unresponsive".

    Step 2: Clean Boot:

This did not work and Word would become unresponsive when trying to save a file.

I did notice another odd thing. It seems that sometimes (not often) Word would work the first time I used it If I close it and reopened it the unresponsive behavior returned. I tried opening Word several time but it remained unresponsive.

This is very frustrating as I use Word daily.

How to prevent windows from closing the unresponsive program/process?

What is the proper way to close unresponsive processes?

I used taskkill so far to kill unresponsive processes:
    Code:
However I read this is not a safe way to close process! It could mess up registry, or Windows, or program data!!!

There is also cmdlet: Stop-Process, it works similarly. But I have no idea, if this is any better. Still you need to force process to close, otherwise it won't close! Taskkill might be still better than hard restart tho! Games freeze a lot of times on alt-tab, or bug... This saved me from hardrestart many times!
