Windows 10: How to prevent Windows from overriding Asus Armory crate's power plan mode?

I get this notification whenever I plug or unplug the laptop from the power, asking to override the ROG operating mode that has been set in the Armoury Crate. I intend to use the crate's power plans by default, most of the times I put it on "silent" mode, and on "performance" for intensive tasks, but never select the "Windows" mode. However, when I tap OK on the notification, I see an exclamation mark beside the "Silent" mode in the Armoury Crate.

Secrets to get ASUS Armoury Crate to run successfully?

I just built a new PC using an Asus Z790 board. I consulted a few forums and was advised not to install any Asus bloatware especially Armory Crate. Note there is a BIOS option best disabled to prevent it being installed automatically.

I just review the Asus site periodically for any new drivers and BIOS updates.

 

Power plan?

Upon checking, it seems that there's nothing wrong with your system. It is usual that you have to double-click your mouse before your monitor wakes up.

For the meantime, we suggest changing the power plan by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + S.
• Type in Power Settings.
• On the pop-up window, choose Additional power settings.
• Select High performance.

After changing the power plan, we suggest that you monitor the changes made and check if that will work for you.

Why is my computer freezing after I close graphically intense games? (Red dead redemption 2)

Solved the issue. Simple enough, my power setting was set to "balanced" as opposed to "Asus recommended". When I set it to "asus recommended", then turned on turbo mode in the armory crate, it created a power plan called "turbo". I'm now getting 80 degree cpu with 60fps on 1440p two notches above the recommended settings. Its all good now.
