how to prevent windows update assistant nagging on 1709?

A long time ago, I changed the windowsupdate permissions under Services by changing it from SYSTEM to another limited user I created.

I have not gotten any update nags since.

But I see that MS has been sneaky, and somehow, the Update Assistant wants to download some major update and reboot my computer.

Good thing I caught the reboot request, because I did not want my work to be interrupted at frickin 9AM!

I am currently on 1709 Home edition. How do I disable these assistant updates?

Task scheduler doesn't let me disable. MS put a user permission block.

    :)

How to turn off or prevent Windows 10 from nagging update info?

    *Original Title: Nag nag nag

Does anyone, anywhere, even Microsoft, know how to turn off or prevent Windows 10 from constantly nagging to update account info? This is really annoying and other than signing in with just a local user account I can't seem to turn this damn nuisance nagging
    prompt off.

How do I permanently prevent windows 10 update #1709 from trying to reinstall itself?

Thanks for your help, but none of the suggestions work.

In order to stop 1709 reinstalling itself, I've taken your advice and paused the 1709 update for the maximum amount of time possible,
as soon as I reverted the machine to 1703. And yet a day or two later I was being nagged to complete the re-installation of 1709 ever time I shut down the machine.

Now the 1709 is "paused", but as soon as unpause it, it will naturally reinstall itself fully, as the usual 30% is already "installed" on my machine, being held back only by the "pause" step.

This also stops the 1907 from being displayed in your suggestion 3 & 4, so there is nothing to hide.

Suggestion 2 doesn't work as the 1709 update is apparently "semi-installed", so itcan't be "prevented". I'm probably using the wrong terminology, but the result is the same. It won't work.

Suggestion 1 doesn't work at all.

Thanks again, but MS has a real doozy of a problem in 1709, and how it "semi-installed" when I followed the "How do I stop this happening Q?" to the letter, is beyond my ken.

Essentially, it looks like I'll have to do another complete reinstall and trust to luck that I don't have to do this 3 or 20 times.

Thank you for your assistance, but this isn't working.
