Windows 10: How to put ALL files from external hard drive to my pc

How to put ALL files from external hard drive to my pc? i did a simple copy paste and when i checked the amount of GB of the files that i pasted to my pc, the GB didnt match with the external hard drive, so i wanna know how i can know if i missed files/how i can paste all the files properly to my pc without leaving a single file in my external hard drive. im planning on clearing my external hard drive but it has important files i dont want to lose. Thx to whoever answers.

• Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
• Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.

The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.
