Windows 10: how to put recovery key while in compete keyboard appears having only numbers no alphabet

incomplete keyboard appearing having numbers only known recovery key can not put?

Some keyboard keys stopped working after windows 10 upgrade

Has the Notebook been worked on? Do any of those keys work if holding down the Shift key? Have you used compressed air to blow out any crud that may be blocking the keys?

It's not expensive nor hard to replace the keyboard, usually can find a video or step-by-step articles on the 'net.

This issue might be happening because of the faulty device.

1. Since when are you facing this issue?
   
2. Have you recently made any changes on the device?
   
3. What is the make and model number of the device?
   
4. Is this issue happening on Laptop or desktop keyboard?
   
5. Which Operating system is installed on your device?
   
   
   

Step 1: If the issue is causing with the faulty driver, run the Hardware Troubleshooter

1. Click on Start.
   
2. Search for Troubleshoot and click on it.
   
3. Click on Keyboard and Run the troubleshooter.

Step 2: You can also try with “Onscreen keyboard” to check the working of numeric key.

1. Open run command (Windows and R key), type in
   OSK.
   
2. Use the numeric 2 and check the status.
   

If the issue is only with the specific numeric key (Number 2), I suggest you to check with the manufacturer for the further assistance.

When in sleep mode keyboard alphabets act like as a number key

Hi,

As per the description, I understand that after your computer goes to sleep mode, your keyboard keys become numbers.
I can imagine the inconvenience you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to fix the issue.

What is the make model no of the computer?

Please follow the Method given below to check if its helps.

Method 1:

Update the drivers for the keyboard and check. Follow the steps to update drivers.

a) Press Windows Key +X.

b) Select ‘device manager’.

c) Expand ‘Keyboard”, right-click on the adapter and select update ‘update driver software’

If the issue persist then please follow next method.

Method 2: Uninstall and Reinstall Keyboard Driver.

• Press Window Key +X.
• 
  Select Device Manager.
  
• 
  Expand Keyboard.
  
• 
  Right Click on the Keyboard Driver and uninstall the driver.
  
• 
  Restart the computer.
  

After Restarting, Windows will try to install the genuine Driver of Keyboard automatically. If not then I would recommend you to download the keyboard driver from the manufacturer websites to check if its helps.
