I bought a laptop from retailer. Brought it home. Bought a license key for Windows Home. When I installed Windows I realized that the laptop given to me was wrong wrong videocard. I deleted the partition with windows on it, deleted the device from my account, brought laptop back to the retailer and exchanged it for the correct one.Now I can't activate my Windows copy, because it says that my key is already in use on another device. I can't use the "I changed hardware" option because I removed the device from my Microsoft account. And I can't get support because Microsoft took down the Virtua

    Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.

Does Windows 7 require reactivation if...

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think its going to ask you for a key. If anything it will ask you to reactivate, which you can do online, or at the worse- over the phone. Should be no issue.

I have changed MBs in the past (and been too lazy for a fresh install) and Windows Vista and 7 RC updated the drivers and did not even require reactivation.
