I know the odds of me actually being able to restore it are basically zero but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. I a while ago got a virus on my computer and in a panic turned off al backup services and reset the PC as well as hit the 'wipe the drives' or whatever it's called option. In retrospect I could and should have gone about removing the virus more carefully but I was panicked and in a hurry. Because of this, a creative world that I spent years on got deleted. I know the odds of me recovering are basically zero but does anyone have any suggestions?

    :)

    hard drive wiping software

anything that can do it in windows?

i dont want the whole drive wiped, just the stuff that i've deleted in the past, wouldn't want those files to be recovered.

  3. i wiped my pc and my minecraft worlds are nowhere

    Hi Quandale Dingle4,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Unfortunately, if you wiped your PC and did not back up your Minecraft worlds, it is likely that they are gone permanently. When you wipe a hard drive, all data on it is deleted, including game saves and worlds.

However, there are a few things you can try:

    1. Check if the worlds were saved to the cloud: If you were playing Minecraft Bedrock Edition and had cloud saves enabled, your worlds may have been saved to your Xbox Live or Microsoft account. To check, open Minecraft on a device that is signed into the same account and see if the worlds are there.
    2. Check the recycle bin: If you wiped your computer recently, there may be a chance that the worlds were moved to your recycle bin instead of being completely deleted. Open your recycle bin and look for any Minecraft-related files.
    3. Use a data recovery tool: There are some software tools available that can help recover lost files. However, these can be hit or miss, especially if the data has been overwritten.
In the future, it's always a good idea to back up your game saves and worlds regularly to prevent permanent data loss. You can do this by manually copying the world files to an external hard drive or using a cloud storage service like Dropbox or OneDrive.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, if you have any questions, please feel free to leave us a message.

    Best regards

How to recover completely deleted MC world after windows reset & drive wipe, no onedrive...

    Windows 10 - OneDrive

This is Windows 10 Pro... Enterprise is an entirely different deal and I'm sure I won't have problems that route, but I'm not forking over more $ to dipshit developers. The only thing I can think of is un-linking my Office 365 accounts within Office, but that defeats the purpose of accessing the files ONLINE and managing them from there. I have two alumni accounts, not a single problem in Windows 7/8 until M$shit devs decided to integrate Onedrive. I've deleted, renamed, set read-only to "msosync.exe," ... but windows continues to add it again and again, and NOW I just noticed it's now linking to groove.exe, instead of onedrive. Sooo fn annoying!

Onedrive on Windows 10 is not an 'app' it is integrated. Plus I don't fool around with the Windows Store thoughtless developer child bullshit. Windows Store ought to be completely removed from the Windows platform all together. Also I do not intend to completely remove Onedrive, it defeats the purpose... the purpose is to REMOVE it from Windows Explorer navigation and startup.
