    Recover backup file from registry editor

    I've accidentally deleted my windows profile's backup (.bak) from the ProfileList in Registrary Editor. I lost all my files as a result.

    Is there a way for me to recover that -----.bak file or my lost files?

    How do I delete registry files?

    I have some programs which I deleted from "Add/Remove Programs" and I want to make sure they are deleted... where do I go to delete these files in my registry?

    Also, I know there is a website where you can type in the name of programs running in the registry files to check if they are legitimate... where can I check my programs?

    Thanks for your reply. I used my m8s program and it worked like a dream, recovered all the files and also deleted ones from yrs back, was amazed how well it did. Next step is i will use that Partition Table Doctor to recover the deleted partition. Thanks for the link *Toast :toast:
