Windows 10: How to reinstall a missing Realtek ethernet adapter Dell 2020

We recently have installed fiber optics in our house. We have two All in one Dell 2020's running windows 10. One PC connects to the internet readily, the other one doesn't connect. Inspection of the Device Manager listings show that the successful PC has a Realtek adapter, the other one has no ethernet adapter listed. I read the 2017 thread discussing the same problem, but the answers don't offer much help.It would seem like an obvious procedure would be to download the driver from Realtek, which I did successfully, but it sits in the download file and never shows up in Device Manager. Dell laptop Inspiron and Realtek USB Ethernet Adapter suddently disconnected

Few months ago, I had changed my internet connection from build-in wifi to ethernet USB adapter, the ethernet connection allways suddently disconnected when I connected to internet. I checked it was not related to AntiVirus software.

Devices:

Dell laptop Inspiron

WavLink USB 3.0 ethernet hub (realtek chips)

Finally, I find that USB ethernet adapter had insufficient power input.

Since I had adjusted the setting as followings:

1) make sure power adapter is connected

2) adjust the driver properties (closed the option "Selective suspend" & "power save mode to ethernet"

The problem was fixed.

Solution 1: No Internet Access In Windows 8.1or Windows 10

Step 1:

Go to Device Manager → Network adapters.
Step 2:

Expand it (Network adapters).


Step 3:

Select your network adapter


Step 4:

Right click on your wireless network adapter or Ethernet adapter and then tap “Update Driver Software”.
(in this case your network adopter is Ethernet adopter so tap your Ethernet adapter)
Step 5:

Now on a new window you will need to click on “Browse my computer for driver software”.




Step 6:

Then select “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”.



Step 7:

Now choose the “Manufacturer’s drivers” from the list of two and then click next.



Step 8:

After the completion of the process just restart your PC and check if the problem is solved or not. If not, goto solution 2.



Solution 2: No Internet Access In Windows 8.1,windows10

Step 1:

Open command prompt.
Step 2:

Just go on hitting the enter after typing the each command.
netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable
netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled
Step 3:

Now to check if the settings are disabled type:
netsh int tcp show global
then hit enter.
Step 4:

Now the thing left is just rebooting your system and just check if the problem is solved or not and just give feedback.*chuckle*Thumbs

The Dell laptop does not have Ethernet port. USB Ethernet Adapter has to be used for an Ethernet cable connection.

I have tried all you suggested except uninstall and reinstall Universal Serial Port Driver.

I'll try it later today.
