Windows 10: How to Reinstall Windows 11 on New Motherboard

Hello,I currently have a B450M DS3H motherboard that initially had W10 at first but was able to upgrade into W11, to which I am currently on. I will be upgrading into a new motherboard B550M-A WIFI II sometime soon. While I am aware that a new mobo would require a new activation key, is there a possible way that I could transfer my W11 Pro with it already being activated on my old mobo onto this new mobo? If so, would I just need to sign into the Microsoft account that the W11 is activated in or would I need to do a whole new reinstallation process? On that note, am I able to use the same

Reinstall Windows?

You don't need to reinstall windows. Go to the device manager and remove uninstall the processor and motherboard drivers listed. When you start the system back up you should be able to re-install the new ones. I just changed my mobo/processor Friday, everything is fine.

BTW I have seen some reviews that state practically no difference in using more than 2gb of ram.

• Are you trying to reinstall Windows 8 or Windows 10?
• If you already upgraded to Windows 10, were you able to create a new copy of the recovery drive?

Reactivating Windows 10 with new motherboard

Plugging it into the new motherboard should be enough, but create a recovery drive in case you need to perform a startup repair:

The fact that you don't have a license key concerns me. If Windows 10 came preinstalled on your computer, you can't transfer it to a new computer or motherboard. You will need to purchase an entirely new license.
