Windows 10: How to reinstall Windows Hello

I can no longer use my fingerprint reader to log on to Windows. The fingerprint setup screen says that Windows Hello is not available - so it seems to have been deleted, overwritten, or ??? because it did work OK in the past.

I've not been able to find a way to reinstall Windows Hello anywhere online. sfc/scannow completed with no errors. My system in Home so I don't have Policy Editor, and the registry tweak from here did not fix the problem. I'm very reluctant to do a Windows Refresh because I've read that some applications can get messed up by that method.

The Setup/Windows Features page did show Windows Hello as being installed. So I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it. But after rebooting I got the same message from the fingerprint setup page: Windows Hello is not available.

Is there a way to reinstall the Windows Hello function?

For us to properly isolate the issue with your Windows Hello, we would like to know the following:

• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g. updates, software installation)?
• To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what specific troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

In the meantime, we suggest that you try reinstalling your camera driver to resolve the issue.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
