Windows 10: How to reinstall Windows S Mode on a Replacement Disk?

I have here a PC with Windows S Mode. As known leaving S Mode and using Home instead is meant to be done only once and forever or you have access to S Mode Installers not possible for normal user etc. ... but reality is not as easy as meant:Replacing the original Disk with an empty one and installing there another brandnew Windows from ISO/USB keeps S Mode done with: orig disk is W10S, new installed is W11S.But the experience shows some more special behaviour:Again that above PC with W10S and not yet changed to Home:– Booting this PC from a different disk out of another PC where W1

Installing windows off of a USB stick

Step By Step from vista:
From admin cmd prompt

1. diskpart
1a. list disk
2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

And that's it, boot off your usb disk

 

Reinstalling Windows 7 using Recovery Disks


Here's my situation. Prior to doing my Windows 10 upgrade on my HP Pavillion DVT7 2200 Notebook, I successfully created the 3 Recovery disks. Prior to that I was receiving messages that a hard drive failure is eminent and I should back up my files and replace the hard drive. My Windows 10 upgrade went fine and for most part I'm happy with it. My issue now is my XP Mode is not supported and I have lost a VM that is use run legacy software.

My question is when I run my system recovery is it going to roll me back to where I was before creating the Recovery disks? Will I have to reinstall all my software? I have ordered a replace HDD from HP and it will be arriving on Wednesday. I've thread through many threads of recovering you system with recovery disks and system images. I've never done anything like this before and really appreciate someone giving me a step by step process to follow that at the bare minimum with restore my laptop with Windows 7 after installing my new HDD.

Change motherboards without reinstalling Windows 7!

Don't even need to go through all those steps. Once you got into safe mode,windows 7 will rebuild it's drivers automatically. Boot normally and then install chipset drivers if not already in.

Edit:
One thing though, it gets hectic with RAID and you will NEED to reinstall/rebuild the array. Only circumstance where you will find driver conflicts.
