Windows 10: How to remove bing internet search from the search in my new laptop?

Please help because this problem is the reason I keep going back to my old great notebook with windows 7.


I have Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.


This comes with the search which has always been to search within the computer and I need that especially because I am not used to windows 10 and if I want to do an internet search I WILL CH OOSE THE BROWSER TO DO SO.


I find this really annoying, it is hampering to efforts to find what I need in the computer and yet, I look online and watch these youtbue videos and other explanations, but none of the descriptions are lik my notebook.


For exmple, one of the things I need to do is make screen shots. If I had to in this notebook, I'd never figure out how. I can't have that situation. I am now struggling with stujff like this when I have to practice for the remote job I have.

PLEASE can anyone give me an easy way to disable/uninstall it? I don't even want bing, to be honest. If I want to use it, I can open a browser and use it.


I DO NOT USE CORTANA, AND THOUGH I AM PROMPTED TO 'LOG IN'TO IT I HAVE NOT DONE SO.


I do not want cortana, and would also appreciate getting rid of that, too.

How to remove Bing search

a) What is the exact issue that you face with Bing?

b) Is the issue related to Bing app?

c) Do you get issues with bing search in Windows Edge?

If you wish to set a different search for Windows Edge, here are the steps which might help you to set it as default search engine or home page.

• Open Windows edge.
• Click on More actions (Three dots ...)
• Click on settings.
• Click on view advanced settings.
• Turn on "Show the home button"
• Enter the URL of the website which you want to set as your home page.
• Close the Windows edge and open it again you will be able to get you desired webpage as your home page.

For Internet Explorer, refer to the following steps:

a) Type Internet options into the start search box

b) Press enter

c) Go down to search and select settings,

d) You can change it here.

Remove Bing

Do you want to remove BING from default search, from Internet explorer or Windows search?

To remove Bing from Internet explorer follow the steps:

• Click the gear icon to open the Tools menu.
• 
  Select "Manage Add-ons" from the Tools menu to display your add-ons by type.
  
• 
  Select "Search Providers" under the add-on type. If Bing is the only search provider listed, you'll have to add another one before you remove Bing. To do this, click "Find more search providers." Click your desired search provider and click "Add to Internet
  Explorer." Select "Make this my default search provider." Restart Internet Explorer and return to the Manage Add-ons menu.

  Select "Bing" and click "Remove."
  

Steps for removing Bing search bar:

• For users who have a touch screen device on Windows 8 or Windows 10 you will need to swipe from the right side of the screen to the center to open the charms bar.
  
  Note: For users who have a PC or laptop you need to press and hold the button “Windows” and the button “C” on the keyboard.
• Left click or tap on the “Settings” icon presented in the “Charms” bar.
• Left click or tap on the “Change PC settings” feature presented in the “Settings” window.
• Now in the “Change PC settings” menu you will have to search for “Search & apps” and left click or tap on it.
• You will have to find in the “Search and apps” menu the “Get search suggestions and web results from Bing” feature and toggle the switch to disable it.
  
  Note: Set the switch to “Off” state.
• Reboot the Windows 8 or the Windows 10 device and your Bing search bar should be disabled.

Remove Bing as search engine

Setting another search provider as the default is all you need to do. There is no reason to disable or remove Bing.

Internet Explorer > gear icon > Manage add-ons > Search providers > if you don't have Google or another listed go down to the bottom and click on "Find more search providers" Add Google then right-click > Set as default. If Google isn't the search provider
you want, which is?
