Windows 10: How to remove folder from Photos App without deleting it?

The title says it all. I like using the Photos App to view my photos. However, I do not want it to display every photo, only ones from a folder that I specify. I went to Folders > Add a folder and added my "Photos" folder. However, I forgot that it had some photos that I didn't want Photos App to show. So I organized my Photos folder with subfolders "Photos 1" and "Photos 2". I want "Photos 1" to be showed in the Photos App, and "Photos 2" not. But, when I went to "Remove folder" in Photos App, it DELETED the original folder and all the photos! Luckily I noticed it and restored it from the

:)

I suggest you to remove and re-add the photos folder from Photo app. Follow the steps below:

• 
  Open Photos App.
  
• 
  Click on Settings.
  
• 
  Under Sources click on the X mark next to the folder location listed to delete the location from Photos App.
  
• 
  Once done try to re-add the folder by clicking on Add a Folder.
  
• 
  Restart the computer and check if issue persists.

Trouble deleting a folder

Thanks for the suggestion but it says "delete folder failed for E:\....." for each folder I try.

• When you say, “I can't delete individual pictures” are you facing any issues in deleting the all pictures or only a particular? If yes, what is the error message that you read?
  
• Are you trying to remove the picture only from Photos app?
  

If you are trying to remove the pictures only from the Microsoft Photos app, then you can remove the particular folder from the Photos apps and the pictures won’t appear in Photos app. Please follow the steps mentioned below to do the same:

1. Open Photos app.
   
2. Click on ellipsis (three dots) on the top right corner and click on
   Settings.
   
3. Under Sources, click on X
   to remove the folder where your pictures are saved.
