Windows 10: How to remove Hewlett-Packard - USB - Install error - 0x80070103 from windows update downloads

Hello,I have read every post on here and tried everything from the wushowhide, to registry editing, to deleting the software distribution folder, cmd prompt, services.msc, etc. I have tried reinstalling windows, reinstalling usb drivers and anything else I could find recommended. Can someone please tell me why an HP usb driver is even part of windows update, and if you can tell me how to get rid of this, I will be forever grateful. I have had this issue with windows 10 & 11, and with 3 different motherboards. Thank you for any help you can give.

The error 0x80070103 occurs if the update or a superseded version of the driver has already been installed on the computer.

You can check which version of the driver is installed by running this command from an admin Command Prompt window.

• dism /online /get-drivers /format:table
  

Or, to filter the HP entries, run the following:

• dism /online /get-drivers /format:table | findstr /i Hewlett
