Windows 10: How to remove icons from taskbar?

I have some unused icons pinned to the task bar that I'd like to remove. Right-clicking on any of them does not work. Is there any trick to remove them?

Turn off "Active standby" in the "Settings" app. Details in the phone's User Guide.

u can do this by turning off the Active Standby option by going to Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Personalisation > Standby Mode > Active Standby > Off

 

You can try some of Brink's tutorials, or first check the folder:
and perhaps post a picture, so we can see where and what is the problem.

This path above is from tutorial. I checked mine and it is like:
C:\Users\myname\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned

 

OK, I found that task bar folder and unpinned the unused icons from the task bar.
