Can't remove non existent folders from indexing exclusions.

These folders do not exist and clicking the remove button does nothing.

They did exist at one point but all that stuff is located on another drive now.

I rarely search with explorer and when I do I only search in a specific folder and it's subfolders.

I never search from the desktop, I have the taskbar "Search" hidden.

I have "Allow files on this drive to hve contents indexed in addition to file properties" disabled for every drive.

I have no locations indexed at all.

"C:\Windows\system32\SearchIndexer.exe /Embedding" is not disabled and is running.

Can anyone tell me how to remove them from that list without reinstalling the OS?

  3. How to Remove Unpopulated Drive Letters

    Hello Again:

I performed everything except for working with the User Profile and I will be doing this as well, but now it is getting late. As far as removing the drive letter, what you stated is exactly what occurred. The drive letters are now gone, but for each respective
drive, or Disk # each state:

    Disk [respective drive #]

    Removable

    No Media

When opening File Explorer all of the non-existent drives are no longer listed. With respect to File Explorer [aka: File Manager from years ago] the problem is solved. However and as you mentioned, Disk Management still shows the No Media Drives with no
Disk drive letters. I would rather have File Explorer stop showing the non-existent drives and if I have to continue to see Disk Management showing the non-existent drives, well this is only a minor inconvenience.

As soon as I create a test User Profile I will insert several jump drives, remove them and see what happens. I will keep you updated.

    Again, thank you very much.
