Windows 10: How to "REMOVE" OEM product key from BIOS firmware of DELL Inspiron 3268

I have read more than 200 posting since Friday afternoon - and nothing is helping. My 80yo father's PC needed to be reloaded. He had purchased a Digital Key for Windows 10 Pro. The reason for the reload was something in the last update corrupted his system, and forced the machine to revert to the ORIGINAL LOAD of the software on the machine. Thankfully, I had a backup of most stuff there. It put HOME version of Windows back on the machine. Nothing I can do will get it to pull the digital key back from my MS account which we had put on the desktop to save the key. I can see it. When I

OEM keys & bios / firmware upgrades

Hi, I have a HP laptop that was originally Win 8 with an OEM key. That was subsequently upgraded to Win 10. I note that there are bios & firmware upgrades available for my device but I have read that the OEM key is embedded in the BIOS. Can I upgrade the
bios & firmware & the OEM key still be valid?

Windows Product Key for DELL Inspiron One 2020

I bought a Dell Inspiron One 2020 from Dell.

It came with Win 8.

I upgraded it to Windows 10.

After a while, the hard drive crashed.

I downloaded Windows 10 iso and re-installed Windows.

However, I can't activate the product key because it is embedded in the BIOS.

How do I activate the product key I do not have access to?
