    How to remove old ActiveX control file, that´s denying access


    Hello, I was recently clearing my Roaming file, and I stumbled opon an old file, that wasn´t in use. When I tried to remove file flash.ocx in it, it says that I need permission to do that. I should have permission, since I´m the only user/admin on my PC. I already tried to manually give myself permission through security tab in properties, I tried to remove it with admin cmd: del, I tried to make administrator user through cmd and delete it, I ran my PC in safe boot mode to delte it ,I tried to use uninstallation program from flash site. And still nothing... File is not being used, it´s just

    ActiveX Controls

    I'm trying to play an old educational CD. But a Window pops up says that "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because your internet settings prohibit the use of ActiveX controls."

    I went to my control panel and started the ActiveX Installer, but the CD still did not play.

    I have Windows 10 and Google Chrome, by the way.

    Help, please. TIA.

    Denied access to files

    Ok I got a pc in from a friend and he wants me to fix it, it doesn't boot up properly so I was thinking reinstall windows but first I have to save all his songs and crap. First problem it denies me access to the files on his HDD when it is hooked up to my pc .... damn. Second problem is that it is a very, very old pc nforce 2 chipset and I can't ID the board so I can't get the drivers. It won't turn on so I can't check it that way any ideas.

    ActiveX Control Pad

    The ActiveX Control Pad is a very old - going back at least 10 years - authoring tool that makes it easier to add ActiveX controls to the HTML of a web page.

    For their part, ActiveX controls, which were used primarily if not exclusively by Internet Explorer, fell out of favor long ago because they're not secure.

    It's a mystery to me why any of today's software would ask to install an old tool for an unsafe technology. But if that's what you're looking for just run a web search with this search term: download activex control pad. It's my opinion that you should only
    download that from Microsoft's own website.
