How to remove old devices Family Safety application

Hello dear community. I have one PC with Windows 11. There are 2 Microsoft accounts. First admin account my account. Second standard account my child. I use parental control with Family Safety application.I reinstalled the OS and now in the Family Safty application I see that 2 devices are connected to the Family Safty application. But that's not true. Only one device is connected to the Family Safety. The second device is the same PC before reinstalling Windows.I checked connected devices to my account and to my child's account here:https://account.microsoft.com/devicesI removed old devic

  2. Unable to remove devices from Microsoft Family Safety

I am attempting to set time limits in Microsoft family Safety but have been unable to remove old devices from its list. I have one active computer "Alienware" which replaced a prior computer "DESKTOP-KC2IK4G" which I no longer have. I had temporarily given my son Administrator privileges while attempting to move data from his old to new PC then reset that computer to sell it but did not remove those privileges before doing so. Since Family Safety thinks he still has these privileges it won't enforce the time limits. The DESKTOP-KC2IK4G is listed twice because I tried to go back in using that same computer, entering our accounts, giving him Administrator privileges then removing them hoping it would fix the issue. All it did was add another device to his Family Safety instead.

I have gone into my Microsoft account and deleted DESKTOP-KC2IK4G but it still shows up on my list in Family Safety. I have attempted to remove my son from Family Safety and then add him back but all 3 devices persist.

  3. Family Safety - add device to child profile

Since this is the case and you have ensured the settings are correctly setup in family Safety, we suggest that you sign in using your main account and remove you child's account from Family Safety list. (Refer to the image below for reference.)

After completing the steps, attempt to use the email address of your child to login to the computer and see if the same error message still shows up. If the error no longer shows up, we suggest that you attempt to add the account back then to Family safety.

    Regards.

Remove myself from the Family safety

    Hello Billy,

I understand that you are trying to remove yourself from the Family safety settings in Windows. We will help you.

Note: You cannot remove yourself from a family if you are the only adult and there are still child accounts still in the family.
If you want to remove yourself, you'll need to add another adult first, or remove all the child accounts first.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps you regarding the
    family safety settings.

Turn off family settings in Windows.

    • To turn off family settings for a child in your family, sign in at account.microsoft.com/family. Then choose one of these
      options:
      • Remove them from family settings by choosing Remove, then selecting their account, then selecting
Remove again. They’ll still be able to sign in to their PCs, but this will remove any family limits that you set.
      • Or select them from the main family page, which will bring you to their Recent activity. If
Activity reporting is turned On, turn it
        Off.
Then repeat for the other settings pages (Web browsing, Apps, games & media, Screen time, Purchase & spending), making sure that those switches are turned
        Off.

Keep us posted if the issue is resolved. We are glad to help you further.
