Windows 10: How to remove old domain account with disconnect button grayed out?

I have tried numerous things and so far nothing has worked. The disconnect button is grayed out and under the local admin account under work or school the accounts aren't even listed there. Is there a registry fix or something that I can run in powershell that will allow these accounts to be purged from the system without having to create a whole new profile and drop from the current entra domain?

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

Thanks for the suggestion! I don't want to add a domain account, as this is a generic unattended install that will be used for all company machines. Do you think it's possible that the computer would join the domain if, instead of using UnattendedJoin in specialize, I used your steps but left out the specific account? The other thing I was thinking was to use a generic account to allow the domain join during the specialize step. I added a machine password in the UnattendedJoin component, and instead of getting the error listed above, I got an authentication error, which makes me think I could probably do a secure join instead of the unsecure join. Thoughts?

Hi,

If you're Windows PC is part of a domain, you can remove the PC from the domain by following the steps below:

• Open Settings, and click Accounts.
• Click on Access work or
  school, click on the connected AD
  domain you want to be removed from, and then click on Disconnect.
• Click Yes to confirm.
• Click Disconnect when asked if you want to disconnect from the organization.
  
• Click Restart now.
• After done, your PC shouldn't be a member of the domain.

Note: You must be signed in to an administrator account to leave a domain.
