Windows 10: How to remove password requirement on my 7-yr old laptop?

Have been using an ASUS netbook for 7-years. Never had a problem until I logged into to Skype. Suddenly my old Asus Win 10 updated computer wants me to log-in EVERYTIME i turn-on the machine! I RESENT THAT... I followed all on-line instructions to "uncheck the password box" to no avail. Am ready to throw the machine away!Do I have to uninstall Skype to resolve it? When I replace the ASUShow do I avoid creating a MSFT account? Do NOT want to password on my my PC.

Password Protected Sharing, Password required is an old password.

I want to see files on a W10 computer from a W7 computer via WiFi or Ethernet LAN.

Advance Sharing Settings:

Windows 10 and Windows 7, File Sharing, Password Protected Sharing is "On" for both computers. No "User group" is setup on either computer.

Steps:

I use "Windows Explorer" on W7 to navigate to W10 through "Network" in navigation pane.

W10 and "Users" are visible on W7.

When I click on the desired user, the following popup opens:

"Enter Network Password"

"Enter your password to connect to:W10"

When I enter L:
*** Email address is removed for privacy *** and CURRENT password, it is rejected. Files and folders on W10 are not shared.

When I enter L: *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and OLD
password, it is accepted. Files and folders on W10 are shared.

I expected the required password to be the same as I use to log directly into W10; the
CURRENT password. How can I update the required password to be the current password?

Was successful in changing the password on the person's local account. But leaving the 2 accounts showing on the login screen will be very confusing for the 82 yr old person owning the laptop..

As suggested, I signed in to the built-in Administrator account, and now both accounts are local account and Administrator?? Did I do something wrong?

Is this way to stop the built-in Administrator account from showing on the login screen:

1. Hold the Windows Key while pressing “R” to bring up the Windows Run dialog box.
2. Type: net user administrator /active:no
3. Press “Enter“.

 

Enable Require password on Wake up Windows 10

To further troubleshoot the issue, we suggest disabling and
enabling the Require a password on wakeup settings on your power plan
by following the steps below:

• Open the Advanced power settings for your current chosen
  power plan.
• Click on the Change settings that are currently unavailable link.
• Set the Require a password on wakeup settings to Yes
  or No, and click on OK.

Once done with the steps, let us know how it goes.
