Windows 10: How to remove System Partition Windows 10 (64-bit)

If you've already made a backup for the HD. Open admin command prompt (Win+X->Command Prompt(Admin)) and type:
diskpart
select disk 0
select partition 4
delete partition override
select partition 3
delete partition override
exit

You'll end up with one single unallocated partition after C drive.

NOTE: partitions are numbered from left to right is 1->4. so delete 4 first.

 

So, I have deleted the 'Recovery D:' partition using Partition wizard. Then I used PW to create two logical partitions and everything seems to be working just fine even after multiple restarts.

So, things are now as just I wanted. Thank you very much all for your help.

Just another thing, should I be concerned about drive letters for 'System' and Hp_tools partitions? or shall I leave it as it is.

I actually converted my previous hard disk from dynamic to basic, as Acronis wasn't allowing me to clone a dynamic hard disk, and perhaps that conversion assigned drive letter to those partitions.

 

System shouldn't have a drive letter. You certainly don't want to see it in explorer...!

 

Sorry I thought the goal was to not create them as logical partitions so we needed to delete Primaries? If you just wanted logical then we need not have done this.

 

...you can remove the drive letter using disk management or a partition manager...

 

The Recovery partition was pretty useless when I converted from basic to dynamic while creating new partitions in the past, so no worries plus I gain some 20gb of wasted space *chuckle.

When I try to remove the drive letter from System, a message appears that :
The volume System (I*Smile Simple volume is currently in use.
If you continue, the drive letter will be freed, however it will still be available for use until you restart the computer.
Warning: Changing the drive letter of a volume might cause programs to no longer run.

Should I continue or leave it as I'm not having any problems right now.

 

I can't answer question on drive letter but I believe you want your new partition as Primaries. Not logicals of some other partition.

 

Ok, didn't know if it would be deemed in use..
Use a bootable partition manager such as Minitool Partition Wizard.

Removed drive letters through Partition Wizard. So far so good.
