Windows 10: How to remove the “remote procedure call failed” message

I cannot log into my computer, because when I do, it just says “the remote procedure call failed.” With just an ok below it. I can’t do anything but be in the log in screen, and I can’t do anything.

The "Remote procedure call" error might be displayed when a service called upon by Windows is not responding. Do you get the error message even after you restart the PC, I would recommend you to boot the computer in Safe mode and check if the issue
persists.

Hi,

To help resolve your concern, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
  
• Type services.msc and hit enter.
  
• Look for "Remote Procedure Call" and make sure that the status says "Started".
  
• Right-click on "Remote Procedure Call" and choose Properties.
  
• Under Startup type, select Automatic.
  
• Click Start, Apply, and hit OK.
  
• On the Second "Remote Procedure Call (RPC Locator)", set it to
  Manual.
  
• Restart your computer.
