Windows 10: How to remove University access from my PC

When I built my PC I thought I would save some money by using the free Windows 10 provided by my University. I didn't realize how much control the University had over my PC (automatic updates, pin changes etc).

When I attempt to disconnect the University from the access work or school setting I get two messages, the first saying:

"Are you sure you want to remove this account? This will remove your access to resources like emails, apps, network and all content associated with it. Your organization may also remove some data stored on this device"

The second message is more worrying stating "After disconnecting you won't be able to sign in to this PC with your organization's account" "If this PC has Bitlocker installed and running, make sure you save a copy of the Bitlocker recovery key somewhere other than this PC"

I would like to remove my schools access but I'm worried as to what data may be removed as well as how I would change my sign in.

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

 

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

 

Can't remove university OneDrive from File Explorer

Can you check it on Settings> Accounts> access work or school> Look for the school account then disconnect it.
