I tried the following suggestion. When I got to step 4, the list provided no checkmarks to uncheck and the icon for Desktop Agent Tray was a checkmark in a yellow circle. nothing happened when I clicked on the yellow circle with the checkmark. the title
on the list was Desktop Agent Tray(2) Clicking on the title opened a title beneath the Desktop Agent Tray (2) which did not have the (2)

the publisher of both titles was CenturyLink Inc and the status for the entry with the (2) was enabled and the status of the other entry was blank. Changing the status to disabled did nothing. the Start up impact was listed as high. There was another
entry under the two Desktop Agent Tray titles There was an icon then Dw20 with a high start up impact. No where was there a place to uncheck or delete. So far the box which lists the error disappears and there seems to be no problem. I just wonder why
it is there,

• Press Windows key + R, type msconfig.
• Go to Startup tab.
• Click on Open Task Manager.

Windows fails to startup after Windows Update - How to reopen Case # improperly closed by Microsoft support level 2

Case #: 1483138492

Hi,

I updated my laptop computer in the summer. Since then it no longer starts up and can no longer be used. It is in an endless loop with the blue screen options starting up but none of them working. Was on the phone with Windows level 2 support for 2-3 times
in an attempt to fix it. Windows level 2 support closed it eventually, claiming they could not reach me at the agreed time.

I called Windows support twice since the improper closure of the case #. Both times I was given suggestion as to how to reopen the same case number but both times nothing happened. It's been now another 2 weeks since my second call to Microsoft to reopen
my case. I do not want to wait another 1.5 hours to speak to a human being.

Any suggestions how to reopen case #1483138492?

I am at the point where I am willing to just wipe off my computer and re-install a Windows version that works, but do not know how to do so and how to obtain a new license key for the windows version that the Windows updated "destroyed".
